WHAT IS THERE TO DO WHEN VISITING NORTH IDAHO?

Coeur d'Alene, Kellog, Post Falls, St. Mary's, Sandpoint and many other North Idaho towns are filled with activities for both Summer and Winter fun. 

Coeur d'Alene, The City by the Lake is the “Heart of North Idaho” and the gateway to a region full of scenic places and exciting  things to see and do. 

Wintertime Activities:
Snowboard, cross country or alpine ski at Schweitzer Mountain, Silver Mountain, and Lookout Pass. Snowmobile in our back country, or Ice Skate on our lakes.

Summertime Activities: Swim, fish, boat, and enjoy our many waters. There are cruises on Lake Coeur d’Alene, as well as Lake Pend Orielle. Hayden Lake,  and The Spokane River offer summer fun as well. Or how about Trophy Fishing in the St. Joe River with St. Joe Outfitters, or visit the Castaway Fly Shop in Coeur d'Alene.

Biking: 
Bike the Centennial or the Hiawatha Trails. For information visit Friends of the Trails, or Spokane River Centennial Trail home page. You may rent bikes with Vertical Earth in Coeur d'Alene. If you have your own bike, there are miles of bike trails in and around Sandpoint as well.

Golfing:
There's World Class Golfing at Coeur d'Alene Resort and soon to be at The Idaho Club in Sandpoint. There's also Avondale Golf Club, in Hayden, and in Blanchard there's Stone Ridge. Lastly is 
Saint Maries Golf Course
in Saint Maries.

Visit our Museums:
There are h
istoric museums, Museum of North Idaho, and Bonner County Historical Society .

Theatre and Musical Performances
:
Between Lake City Playhouse, the Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre, and Opera Plus, there's something for everyone. 

Amusement Parks: 
For the young and young at heart try Silverwood Theme Park and the water-slide park Wild Waters, or Tripple Play Fun Park

Horseback Riding:
Just outside of Sandpoint, it's Western Pleasure Guest Ranch, or 20 minutes east of Coeur d'Alene is Rider Ranch. Both are family owned and operated.

Cataldo Mission in Cataldo, or Farragut State Park in Bayview, or the historic museums in Coeur d'Alene,
Museum of North Idaho, and in Sandpoint, Bonner County Historical Society.


Visit our Local, Award Winning Wineries:
Not just one, but two award winning wineries are located here. Be prepared to be impressed with both Coeur d'Alene Cellars and Pend Orielle Winery's great wines!

Shopping's always a favorite:
You'll find shopping year round with Cold Water Creek, who started out right here in Sandpoint. Our many antique dealers and local artists will keep you coming back to see what's new! The new Cabelas, in Post Falls, is a destination in and of itself. And don't forget if you're in the market for a new car, Dave Smith of Kellogg, the largest GMC dealer in the Northwest makes it worth the trip!
